A fine Victorian enamel and diamond snake necklace, mid 19th century, the snake's articulated gold body applied with blue basse-taille enamel, its head and tail tip pavé-set with cushion-shaped diamonds, its eyes set with cabochon garnets, suspending a heart-shaped locket pendant from its mouth, similarly applied with blue basse-taille enamel and centring on a flower set with cushion-shaped diamonds, the reverse glazed, necklace length 40cm, locket length 1.6cm, mid-19th century locket pendant possibly a later replacement
