Description

Henri Lavabre, a diamond brooch, circa 1950, designed as a stylised ribbon rosette, set with circular and single-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum and gold, measuring 5.0 x 4.5cm, French assay marks for platinum and 18ct gold, maker's mark for Henri Lavabre

The Parisian workshop of Henri Lavabre was one of Cartier's most important manufacturers in the Art Deco era, working exclusively for the firm between 1906 and 1921. After this they continued to produce jewels of superb quality for some of the most prominent jewellery houses of the 20th century, eventually closing in 1975.
