Description
A George I silver Hanoverian Rat-tail pattern basting spoon,
maker's mark over-striking another, London 1718,
the oval bowl with a plain rat-tail, the terminal with an armorial and later crest, length 35cm, approx. weight 5.3oz.
Provenance: From the private collection of the late Joyce Lowe, of Lowe and Sons, Chester. She became the only female Honorary Member of The Chester Goldsmiths Company in her family's two hundred year ownership of the firm (1770-1977).
