Description
A George III silver chamberstick,
by William Troby, London 1814,
circular form, gadroon border, engraved with a crest, scroll handle with a foliate thumbpiece, urn-shaped capital, removable gadrooned drip-pan and conical snuffer with engraved crest, diameter 15cm, approx. weight 12.4oz.
The crest is that of Henry William Paget (1768-1854), who fought at Waterloo and was created a Knight of the Garter in 1818.
