the brass eight day movement with four knopped pillars and anchor escapement striking on a bell, the brass dial with black Roman hours and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and inscribed 'Jno. Nethercott / Standlake' to the matted centre, beneath a sun to the arch, the case with a slender trunk with an arched door and plinth base, with keys, weights and pendulum
