A George III regimental silver Old English pattern tablespoon, The Northamptonshire Militia,
maker's mark of I.B, London 1796,
the terminal inscribed 'Northamptonshire Militia', approx. weight 2oz.
Provenance: A Private Collection of Military Silver.
Raised in 1763, they took part in the Gordon riots of 1780. They were disbanded in 1953.
