A Wood type Toby jug, c.1790-1800, seated with an upright barrel between his feet, a foaming jug of ale resting on one knee, wearing a sponged blue coat over black breeches and an ochre waistcoat, his hat sponged in grey, small damages to his hat and pipe, 25.4cm.

Provenance: Sir Henry Sutcliffe-Smith (1864-1938) and thence by descent.
