An Upper Sepik River war canoe ornament utukwei
Wogumus or Ngala, Papua New Guinea
with three sago spathes bound to a cane frame, with an applied carved wood mask having a tall spine of hooks terminating in a bird's head, with pigment decoration and with feather and seed attachments,
142cm high, on a base.
