A FINE GEORGE III SATINWOOD AND MARQUETRY PEMBROKE TABLE

with tulipwood and kingwood banding, the drop-leaf top inlaid with a feather plumed fan motif, within elaborate scrolls of husks and with Prince of Wales feathers, all heightened with penwork, with a bowfront frieze drawer on square tapering legs and with applied ankles

A closely related design for a pembroke table with very similar inlay, dated 1784 which was made for Edmund Craddock Hartopp of Merevale Hall, Warwickshire appears in Lyndsay Boynton, Gillow Furniture Designs 1760-1800, fig.61. See also a similar pembroke table with a central nautilus shell from Langleys, Essex attributed to the maker Charles Elliott is illustrated in Lanto Synge, Mallett Millennium, p.181, fig.227.
