IN EMPIRE STYLE, MID-19TH CENTURY
the brass eight day drum movement striking on a bell, the backplate stamped with initials 'GMP 177', the circular white enamel dial with Roman numerals, the case decorated with a classical philosopher teaching a young boy with books and scrolls, with pendulum and winding key
