mounted on an oak board and applied with an ivorine plaque inscribed 'PRIORY POOL, BISHOPSWOOD, RIVER WYE, MARCH 28TH 1954, WEIGHT 43 1/2 LBS' and an ivorine trade label inscribed 'ROWLAND WARD LTD LONDON AND NAIROBI'

Catalogue Note
This salmon was caught by an American Bill Mitchell, a friend of the vendor's grandfather. By repute, the current salmon was one of two 'portmanteau' salmon that were landed in the River Wye that weekend.
