Four carnelian intaglio brooches, each of oval outline, set with a carnelian intaglio depicting one of the labours of Hercules: capturing the Cretan Bull; obtaining the cattle of the three-bodied giant Geryon; capturing Cerberus; and capturing the Mares of Diometes, each in a gilt metal frame, largest 5.0 x 4.4cm, each signed Phoeser
