A Victorian novelty silver and enamel smelling salts bottle,
unmarked, probably by E. H. Stockwell, circa 1882,
modelled as an onion, with brown and light green enamel decoration simulating the onion starting to peel, the underside with roots and a turn-action pop-up section, the hinged cover opens to reveal a glass bottle, height 5.5oz.
