A George III Scottish provincial silver Old English soup ladle,
by Charles Jamieson, Inverness, circa 1810,
shell-shaped bowl, the terminal with a crest, the reverse of the stem with later initials, length 35.5cm, approx. weight 6oz.
Provenance: A Private Collection.
The armorial is that of Menzies Impaling Norton. Sir Neil Menzies, 6th Baronet (1780-1844) married Grace Charlotte Conyers Norton in 1816.
