TWO JAPANESE HIRADO BLUE AND WHITE PIECES
MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY
One a shaped dish with the rim folded to either side and applied with chrysanthemum flowerheads and leaves modelled in relief, painted to the well with flower sprays amongst waves; the other a brushrest formed as three handscrolls and further chrysanthemums in relief, 22.3cm and 6.4cm respectively.
