A CHINESE RED-GROUND DISH AND A CAFE-AU-LAIT CUP
QING DYNASTY

The dish painted with leafy bamboo and a bat above, the reverse with a similar design and flowers; inscribed with a four character iron-red seal mark reading xie zhu zhuren zao; the cup unusually decorated with a continuous landscape in sepia on the lustrous café-au-lait ground, contrasting with the turquoise enamel to the interior; the base with a four-character Qianlong mark, 13.2cm max. (2)
