A Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal to Sergeant Frederick Fosbery, Royal Marine Light Infantry, Victoria, years on edge variety (FK FOSBERRY [sic] SERGT 28TH CO R.M.L.I. 21YRS), engraved in serif capitals, lacking suspension post and (wide) bar, otherwise about very fine and scarce.

Enlisted in the Royal Marines in 1852, and discharged in 1873. This medal was of the scarcer wide suspension type - ref. Douglas-Morris, 'The Naval Long Service Medals'
