A Scottish basket-hilted sword, single-edged blade 31 in., with two narrow fillers to the back; basket hilt formed of oval-section bars and pierced panels with scalloped edges, fluted pommel, shagreen grip with partial wrapping of iron tape; part scabbard of black leather lined with wood, late-18th/ early-19th century.
