A rare and early Martin Brothers Grotesque stoneware spoonwarmer by Robert Wallace Martin, dated 1879, modelled as anthropomorphic reptile, with smiling face, a staring gaze and large conical ears, glazed in green, blue and ochre, incised R W Martin London & Southall 11-79, and number 15, 16cm. long, 10.5cm. high
