A rare large Pilkington's Lancastrian vase and cover by Richard Joyce, dated 1917, shouldered form, painted with a knight on horseback, flanked by columns of Art Nouveau foliage, in golden lustre on a dark midnight ground, the top rim with inscription, impressed factory marks, painted artist cipher and date mark, 31cm. high
