Description

A George III lady's secretaire chest, veneered in fiddleback mahogany, purplewood, sycamore and tulipwood banding with inlaid stringing, the moulded edge top above a fall with a faux two drawer front, with a tooled leather inset and an arrangement of kingwood banded drawers and a pair of cupboard doors with further drawers and pigeon holes above three long graduated drawers, fitted with pierced gilt brass plate handles, the shaped apron on square scroll legs, the brass lock stamped 'B.C.M/J.D.B', 103.5cm (40.75in) high, 82cm (32.25in) wide, 40.5cm (16cm) deep.
