Description

A Charles II ebonised repeating table clock, the twin fusee movement with a verge escapement and six turned brass latched pillars, the foliage engraved back plate with a banner inscribed 'Henry Jones in the Temple,' the 6.25in square brass dial with a silvered chapter ring with matt centre and cast winged cherub head spandrels, pierced steel hands, the brass bar repeat lever with pinned turned handles, the case with a basket domed top having pierced and chased gilt brass panels and carrying handle, glazed side panels, on leaf capped turned feet, 32cm (12.5in) high, 22cm (8.75in) wide, 14cm (5.5in) deep. Henry Jones is recorded as working in London 1668-1698.
