Description

A George III ivory and tortoiseshell strung decagonal tea caddy, the front with an oval blue jasperware plaque of a Roman warrior, in gold husk surround with escutcheon, drapes and octagonal plaque above, the hinged top with a gold loop handle with mother of pearl dot star base, the ivory inner lid with mother of pearl and pique decorated with a gold handle bearing an early 19th century Dutch hallmark, 12cm (4.75in) high, 11cm (4.5in) wide.
