An amethyst and diamond brooch, second half 19th century, set with a large oval amethyst, bordered with panels of cushion-shaped diamonds spaced by pearls, above a palmette set with rose-cut diamonds, mounted in gold and silver, measuring 4.9 x 4.2cm, French import assay mark for 18ct gold, pearls untested
