The verso with a hand written note and a typed version of the same -

No 3. - "The Wind up" Shows the end or nearly so of ... run the 1/2 Breeds and Indians are busy despatching the tired wounded Buffalos - in many instances rather dangerous work as they sometimes wake up in a most wonderful manner for a .... down with anything.....

The typed version is headed - Thomas George Fardell (b.1833, d. 1917) visited America in 1861. Three coloured sketches of Indian life were kept by him until his death when his younger son Herbert Askew Fardell owned then and on his death they passed to Thomas George Fardell's surviving grandson Kenneth Mathieson Fardell (b 1892). A note on the back in T.G.F's handwriting is partly covered by later papering but reads -
