A Fiji spurred club gata
Melanesia
the end with a medial ridge and inset two white beads to dash cut cheeks, the cylidrical shaft with a carved zig-zag grip with attachment holes to the flanged butt, the shaft stamped JOHN SPEAK six times,
104cm long.
Provenance
John Speak - probably collected between 1882 - 1884, whilst on his world tour, collecting ethnographic items. On his death, the collection was divided between the University of Manchester Museum and Bradford Museums.
