A Minton pâte sur pâte jardiniere, late 19th/early 20th century, decorated in white relief with a winged putto carving a marble bust of a soldier, within an elaborate gilt scrolled border on a blue ground, the reverse with a fountain of leaf scrolls and cornucopiae, signed 'A Birks', gilt mark, impressed marks including indistinct date code, broken and restuck, 17.5cm high.
