An enamel, ruby, emerald and seed pearl brooch, mid 19th century, designed as mythical creature with the head of an eagle and the body of a snake, its head in engraved gold set with cabochon rubies and emeralds and seed pearls, its eyes set with garnets, its body applied with blue and white enamel, mounted in gold, length 7.2cm
