Attributed to Leon Eguiazu, a gold and damascene steel necklace, Spain, circa 1905, the necklace composed of gold plaques inlaid with damascened steel bearing various devotional inscriptions in Greek, connected by gold bead linking, suspending a lozenge-shaped pendant inscribed 'Joy', to a barrel clasp designed as entwined hands, length 45cm, fitted case stamped W&F Terry, Manchester, enclosing a hand-illuminated book explaining the meaning of the necklace, addressed to Joy Winder from her grandfather James R Beard, dated Christmas 1905
