A NORTH EUROPEAN FIELD MAPLE AND WALNUT BUREAU BOOKCASE
POSSIBLY SWEDISH, 18TH CENTURY AND LATER
inlaid with banding, the double domed top with a pair of arched doors enclosing pigeonholes, adjustable shelves and an arrangement of fourteen drawers above a pull-out hinged slide inset with a leather writing surface with hinged supports and two inkwells, above a smaller hinged slide and three shallow drawers and a pair of candle slides, the hinged fall revealing a pull-out interior with a leather writing surface, drawers, pigeonholes and inkwell compartments, above an inverted breakfront base with an arrangement of short and long drawers on bun feet
