Description

A James I silvergilt spoon, with a ribbed and extended seal, pricked 'RG' over 'IG', struck once in the bowl, with maker's mark 'DS' with an anchor in between, with a pelleted circular punch, 1610-20, 7.15in (18cm), c.1600. See Jackson's Revised, p.515 for this mark as seen on a seal-top spoon
