A CHINESE MOTHER OF PEARL INLAID BLACK LACQUER PANEL
16TH CENTURY
Depicting a scholar being taken across a stretch of water to visit a friend seated in a pavilion with his attendant, all in a roundel reserved on a geometric diaper ground, the reverse painted brown with two indistinct paper labels, framed, 34.2cm x 34cm.
