A CHINESE BLACK AND CELADON JADE 'SCHOLAR AND DEER' BOULDER
QING DYNASTY
One side carved with a scholar and his attendant travelling along a rocky path towards a pavilion, the reverse with two deer next to a gnarled pine tree, the greyish-green stone with opaque inclusions of russet and extensive black areas, 8.2cm.
Provenance: from a South African private collection.
