the brass eight day four pillar movement with an anchor escapement and striking on a bell, the brass dial with black Roman hours and Arabic five minutes, with subsidiary seconds and date dials, beneath an arch inscribed 'F. Sharpe, Dumfries', the case with an arched hood with reeded columns, a shaped trunk door with an ivory escutcheon, flanked by quarter columns, with two weights and a pendulum
