A PAINTED GILTWOOD HANGING WATCHSTAND

PROBABLY ITALIAN OR FRENCH, 18TH CENTURY

in the form of a lyre, decorated with scrolls, rocaille and a flowerbud finial above a watch by Julien Le Roy of Paris, the body applied with hand-coloured engravings of a palazzo and a view of Venice behind wire strings to the sound box, the back with further 18th and 19th century engravings
