A JAPANESE GOLD LACQUER BOX AND COVER
EDO OR MEIJI, 19TH CENTURY
Modelled as a circular drum, the lid decorated with a large writhing dragon framed by a border of lappets; the sides imitating wood grain; all rendered in gold and silver hiramaki-e, kinji and kirikane, the inside embellished with gold nashiji lacquer, 9.5cm. (2)
