TWO JAPANESE WOOD NETSUKE OF MASKS
EDO/MEIJI, 19TH CENTURY

The first carved as an oni mask with traces of red lacquer, Hyottoko depicted on the reverse, his mouth carved as the himotoshi; the other netsuke a cluster of five masks in Tamba style; 4cm and 3.6cm respectively. (2)
