A JAPANESE WOOD NETSUKE OF KANY'U
MEIJI ERA, 19TH CENTURY
Carved as the famous Chinese General standing, stroking his long beard whilst holding his guandao (halberd); the reverse signed Jusen, 5.7cm.
Provenance: from the Mark and Elizabeth Harding Collection, South Africa. Purchased from David Bowden, 1993. A copy of the invoice is available.
