the brass eight day movement with four knopped pillars, an anchor escapement and striking on a bell, the 11 inch brass dial with a silvered chapter ring with black Roman and Arabic numerals and inscribed 'Tho Davis London' around a matted centre with ringed winding holes, a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture framed by engraved fruit and swags, inside cherub mask spandrels and scrolling foliate decoration, the hood with an ebonised fretwork panel and barleytwist columns, the crossbanded trunk with a rectangular door with a circular lenticle and ebonised frame, the plinth base inlaid with a star
