the brass, eight day, single fusee movement with five knopped pillars, a verge escapement and repeat mechanism and chiming on two bells, the backplate engraved with scrolling foliage around the inscription 'Tho. Martin London', with a heart-shaped pendulum cock, the brass dial with a silvered chapter ring with black Roman and Arabic numerals and inscribed 'Tho. Martin London', around a matted centre with a mock pendulum and date aperture, inside gilt mask spandrels and beneath an arch with a subsidiary regulator dial, the case with a caddy top above silk lined fretwork sound spandrels and a stepped base, with a pendulum
