A gold and enamel locket pendant, late 19th century, the oval locket intricately engraved with an elaborate monogram and abstract foliate scrollwork, opening to reveal a double-sided glazed photo compartment, one side with a frame of green and white enamel, mounted in gold, length 6.5cm including bail, gross weight 54 grams
Beautiful and high-quality locket, quite substantial. Enamel frame with mostly in good condition, some minor cracks to white enamel, some losses to green enamel, mostly intact. Locket closing securely. Scratches to surfaces, some wear to bloom on gold, but no major dents or obvious damage. Exterior tests as ≈18ct, photo frame ≈9ct gold. Closing securely. Overall in good condition.
