A Louis XV French provincial silver wine taster,
by Matthew Lamoureux, Rouen 1777,
circular form, the shaped scroll thumb-piece engraved with a blindfolded cherub blowing a heart and a dog on a lead, also inscribed 'L Fidelite Me Conduit', with a finger ring, the side inscribed 'J. Herbert', length 11.2cm, approx. weight 4.5oz.
