A Louis XV French provincial silver wine taster,
maker's mark I.R over I, unidentified, Rouen circa 1745-50,
circular form, the shaped scroll thumb-piece engraved with a standing man in medieval dress, and inscribed 'Dy Pavl', with a finger ring, the side inscribed 'J.P Capelain', length 10.8cm, approx. weight 3.8oz.
