A modern novelty silver inkwell,
maker's mark worn, Birmingham 1970,
in the form of a pillar box, hinged cover with a gadrooned, to the interior a glass inkwell, gilt crowned royal initials, inscribed 'A nos bons amis du Crédit du Nord en témoignage de notre gratitude pour l'aimable concourse qu'ils nous ont prêté sans réserve à l'occasion de la grève des postiers britanniques en 1971. Midland Bank, Londres', height 17.6cm, approx. weight 14.2oz.
