A George IV silver presentation snuff box,
by Thomas Shaw, Birmingham 1824,
rectangular form with scroll foliate borders and engine-turned decoration, inscribed to the cover 'This tribute of respect is presented to Mr John Edmonds by an independent body of his Fellow Townsmen as an acknowledgement of his leal and ability in fearlessly advocating the rights and strenuously supporting the interests of the parishioners of St Andrew in this his native town Plymouth, February 29th 1828', length 8.8cm, approx. weight 4.6oz.
