A large Meissen figure of Bacchus, 19th century, after a model by J J Kändler, modelled as a young man wearing a belt of grapevine, leaning against a tree trunk and raising a bunch of grapes to his mouth, a young satyr or faun sitting on a barrel behind him, raised on a footed scrolled base with gilt detailing, blue crossed swords mark, incised 669, 28cm.
