Description
Two early 19th century garnet and seed pearl mourning brooches, comprising: a brooch of rectangular design centring on a glazed hairwork compartment framed by seed pearls within an openwork frame of oval-shaped garnets in gold, the reverse inscribed 'Mary Agnes Alderman died 19th Sept. 1834 Aged 24', pearls untested, length 2.8cm; and another brooch of rectangular design with a central glazed locket compartment within a chased foliate scroll frame in a surround of circular-cut garnets with seed pearl terminals, pearls untested, length 3.4cm
