λ A 19th century lapis lazuli and gold mounted portrait box, unmarked, probably Italian, the miniature by Ernst von Valentini (1759-1835), of circular form, the lapis lazuli cover inset with a portrait miniature on ivory of Pope Pius VII, within an engraved frame with ribbon-tied decoration, with engraved gold mount and interior, diameter 8.5cm
