A Louis XVI French provincial silver wine taster,
by Mathieu Lamoureux, Rouen 1776,
circular form, the shaped scroll thumb-piece engraved with a cherub holding a dog on a lead, also inscribed 'Ie Luiseray Fidele', with a finger ring, the side inscribed 'Francois Ferment', length 11cm, approx. weight 3.9oz.
