A large Staffordshire salt-glazed stoneware jug, painted with a courting couple flanked by trees with a flock of birds in flight above, the sides with flowering peony sprays and scattered insects, the rim with a panelled trellis border, an old replacement wicker-bound handle, some rim cracks, 16.8cm.
